Most beginners start on a classical guitar. Yet the vast majority want to play contemporary music, using posture and techniques these instruments were never designed for. The result? Frustration—and ultimately, they quit.

Industry data suggests that up to 90% of beginner guitarists quit within the first year.

The NEW Katoh Evolution EV5 was developed to directly address this.

It features a narrower, radiused fingerboard and dual-action truss rod—delivering a more familiar, comfortable feel for modern players—while maintaining the tonal qualities expected from a classical-style instrument.
